Behind XIXE

XIXE magazine emerged in 2024 not from corporate boardrooms or market research, but from the determination of a founder who refused to be limited by height requirements.

The digital publication addresses what Emeka calls an overlooked demographic. While fashion has embraced racial and body size diversity, petite representation remains limited to celebrities rather than everyday consumers.

After modeling rejections, Emeka turned to fashion writing. Her personal pieces about navigating fashion as a petite person resonated with readers, inspiring the magazine concept.
"I yearned to see someone like myself , not a petite celebrity, but an average petite person gracing the glossy pages of a fashion magazine," Emeka said.

Approximately 40% of women are considered petite (5'4" and under), yet mainstream fashion publications rarely feature non-celebrity petite individuals in editorial content.

XIXE's debut issue features the "Petite Manifesto," examining fashion industry standards and representation. Other sections explore the paradox of petite individuals as fashion consumers who lack media representation.

"We're building a community, igniting a movement," Emeka said. "Our mission extends beyond simply showcasing petite fashion — we're here to empower, inspire, and create a space where every fashion enthusiast feels seen and valued."

The digital magazine targets both petite individuals and readers interested in diverse fashion perspectives.
